The work of a comedian and a teacher – unobtrusive vocations

Combines two worlds

After graduating from Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Justin says that the teacher has become almost by accident.

« I never dreamed of teaching. I think first of all this was due to the circumstances where I started working as a afternoon group at school. Later I started to lead a theater circle, and finally, after the school principal, I became a religious teacher.

Justin is also engaged in comedian activities next to his teaching – he said, these two professions, although different, succeed.

« These are two separate worlds – two vocations that do not interfere with each other. I don’t shy away from laughing in lessons, I think it’s a good feature in doing such a job, » he says.

Joy is inseparable

The comedian who graduated from VMU, who graduated from Catholic Theology, says that his knowledge of religion also helps him in the programs of his stand-up performances-for example, his penultimate program « Jesus Maroz » was included in the biblical topic.

« I grew up in both the residential area and in the ecclesiastical environment. Consequently, they both influenced my personality formation. Only Maroza defeats my fists, I laugh, » Justin joked.

Justin, who is respectful of faith in faith, emphasizes that humor and faith are not incompatible, on the contrary, joy is inseparable from Christianity.

« Let’s start with the theory that Jesus himself joked. Theologians also point out that humor is one of the qualities that was often common to the saints, » he says.

Justin says that from foreign comedians, he likes Tom Segura, Gabrielius Iglesias and Trevor Noah. « There are also many great colleagues in Lithuania – for example, Mantas Katler, Evaldas Jasaitis, Mantas Grimalis.

Different approaches to God

Justin says that there was a « total humanitarian » at the school, so he was best successful in this direction: history, Lithuanian and others.

Later, the VMU guy chose the Bachelor’s and Pedagogy study programs of Catholic Theology. The studies of theology, as a believer, seemed to be a great opportunity to get not only spiritual but also scientific knowledge in the field. Pedagogy was needed to fulfill the desire to become a teacher.

« I had no specific expectations, this study was linked to a desire to acquire education and be a teacher. I achieved these goals, so the plan succeeded. As for the theology, I think the essential thing in these studios is not God’s perception, but the different approaches to Him. Andrew Narbekov, AA dr. Vlad Mackela, dr. Lectures of Artūras Jagelavičius and other lecturers.

Later, Justin VMU graduated from a Master’s degree in History. « History studies have made it possible to experience academic joy to discuss, improve and explore a variety of topics.

I liked the flexibility of study

VMU is distinguished from others by Artes Liberals (Free Arts; Latin), allowing students to choose additional, unrelated things, self -study, learn foreign languages, and use various other benefits.

« This university offers enormous opportunities to meet its academic needs. I liked study flexibility: the opportunity to look at my studies is really useful. For example, I have also studied acting in one semester and I had fantastic lectures on Lithuanian history.

The interlocutor reveals that he has a variety of plans for future activities – not only continues to improve his program as a comedian, constantly creating new jokes, but also writing a book and preparing various projects.

When sharing tips for current twelve -graders, J. Visick notes that the most important thing is to keep in mind his own wishes, but not to be afraid to change the direction of their chosen direction.

« Don’t let others decide for you what to study for. It’s your life, so you want to seek what you want. Second, don’t be afraid to change your studies – give yourself a year. If you don’t like – look for what inspires you, » Justin wishes to young people.
