The whole world awaits the DP’s victory on May 11, Rama’s irony comes out of fear
From the Congress of the European People’s Parties, Sali Berisha said the world expects the DP victory in the May 11 elections, stressing that it will enable Albania’s membership in the European Union under its leadership. In the forums attended by Chancellor Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Parliament Speaker Roberta Metsola and 14 European Prime Ministers, Berisha stressed that Albania is today in the hands of a narcotics that, according to him, has transformed the election into the facade and exercises terror against the opposition.
« Here in the eyes of Europe, I have denounced the sad truth about Edi Rama’s regime. We are telling Europe that Albanians are ready for a different future, for rule of law and integration, » Berisha stated.
He announced that the PPE is expected to adopt a fourth resolution within 5 months condemning Rama’s rule, calling it a full support for the opposition and a clear signal of the need for change in Albania. « This resolution openly condemns violence against opposition, deformation of elections, violations of law and corruption. This is a call for Albanians to separate from the regime and open a new chapter, » he added.
Berisha emphasized that Rama is already a « internationally convicted » and warned that the DP victory on May 11 will be « the 75th Central Right Forces victory in Europe for this year ». Responding to a question to Prime Minister Rama’s irony of his participation in the PPE Congress, Berisha said that « the irony comes from fear » and stressed that international support for the opposition is stronger than ever.
