The long May weekend 2025 is fast approaching, and many Poles plan to rest in the open air. Weather forecasts indicate moderate temperatures and usually dry days, which promotes the organization of grills, trips and other activities in the bosom of nature.
The beginning of the picnic under the sign of a warm aura
This year’s picnic starts on Thursday, which gives you a chance for four days of rest when you take only one day of vacation. The beginning of a long weekend promises to be promising. On Thursday, May 1, the western part of the country will be able to enjoy temperatures reaching up to 22 degrees C. Coastal regions, although cooler, thermometers will show about 15 degrees C. In the mountains and in Podkarpackie, values are expected to oscillating around 18 degrees Celsius, which will allow comfortable wandering.
Friday is even warmer! It will be the most beautiful in Mazovia
The second day of a long weekend will bring a slight temperature increase. In Mazovia, mercury bars can reach 24 degrees Celsius, and the sun will dominate most of the day. In Pomerania and the south of the country, forecasts predict from 21 to 22 degrees C. Although in mountain regions a slightly cooler atmosphere will continue, on average 15 degrees Celsius, the weather should not surprise with violent changes.
Although IMGW has not yet provided detailed data on Saturday and Sunday, the available models indicate the continuation of favorable conditions. Nevertheless, meteorologists suggest the possibility of local atmospheric disorders, especially in the south-eastern and north-eastern regions of the country.
Where is the best to spend a picnic? Check the regional differences
In the west and in the center of Poland, including in the provinces of Lower Silesia and Greater Poland, the conditions will be particularly favorable. Wrocław and Poznań can count on stable, sunny weather with temperatures of 17–19 degrees C. Low risk of rainfall makes these regions an ideal choice for family picnics, bicycle trips or trips out of town.
In Warsaw and Mazovia, forecasted 17-18 degrees Celsius and moderate cloud cover create favorable conditions for urban walks, sightseeing or rest in parks. The weather is to be predictable and without major surprises.
Slightly more difficult conditions in the south and east
In Podkarpacie and the Lublin region, synoptics warn against the possibility of fleeting storms, especially in the afternoon. In Przemyśl and Lublin, thermometers will show around 16-17 degrees Celsius, but changing conditions may force a flexible approach to outdoor plans.
Also Lesser Poland, especially Krakow, may experience some capricious weather – the sun will intertwine with rain, so it’s worth having an umbrella with you. Despite this, at 17-18 degrees C weekend in the region can still be successful.
