The weather doesn’t matter

The golf summer is off to a good start and golfers have flocked to the country’s field to enjoy practicing the sport in the good weather that has played with the country in recent days.

In general, golf club guardians seem to agree that although the weather has been good, golfers seem to play as much regardless of how the weather is.

« Our reunion booking is similar now and in recent years, it seems that when good golf clubs open, there is a lot of excitement to get out on the field. Although spring was not good last year, a booking was incredibly good, » says Ómar Örn Friðriksson.

Opened unusually early

Agnar Már Jónsson, Managing Director of Golf Club Kopavogur and Gardabaer, says that for the second time from the beginning it was possible to open the club’s golf course in April, about a dream winter and a dream.

« However, it cooled down seriously around Easter, otherwise we could even have opened even earlier, » says Agnar, who also says that last summer has taught people that golf can be played no matter how the weather.

Jadarsvöllur, a golf course at the Akureyri Golf Club, opened with a pump and a splendor at the beginning of the week. Gunnar Ernir Birgisson, assistant manager, says that the weather has played with the Nordic countries and that familiar faces are returned to the stadium, certain individuals attend all weather and wind.

Still damage to the pitch

Nesvöllur in Seltjarnarnes suffered considerable damage in the winter after a lot of stones hit the stadium in the floods. The people in the club subsequently joined forces and worked endeavor to clean the stadium.

Stuart Mitchinson, the Nes Club’s field manager, looks bright in the summer.

« There are still damage to the pitch and two holes are not in use yet. However, we are on the right track and the weather is helping us considerably. All holes will be in use later this summer, » says Stuart, who took over the job manager this winter.

The people in the Nes Club joined forces and shoveled stones off the field in March.
