On the road between the villages of Neded (Šaľa district) and the village of Youth (Komárno district), three passenger cars and a truck collided near the Zemný (district of Nové Zámky). Four young Kolársians lost their lives, their car was repaired by a Polish truck.
The accident was caused by a truck driver. He went into the opposite direction, captured one car and hit the other two. After the collision, the truck rolled to the side.
They passed less than four years if a similar tragedy occurred again, again at Kolárovo. On the road between Kolárov and the village of Kameničná on Tuesday, June 3, a minibus collided with a van and then a truck with a trailer crashed into them. Balance – four dead and nine wounded. In the minibus, the workers heading for work in Kolárovo were led, three did not survive.

The quality of roads in southern Slovakia, the regions of Nové Zámky and Komárno, including Komárno, is in a deplorable state. This significantly slows down the economic possibilities of the area and at the same time endangers transport safety.
After the opening of the new Mon -Monošorský bridge in Komárno in 2020, the region is flooded with trucks from abroad, mainly to the north of the country, respectively. to Poland.
On the Slovak side leads a new bridge in Komárno, so to speak, nothing. There is no quality road network that would follow it. The result is regular traffic jams and dangerous situations.
The petition of municipalities four years ago did not help to divert transit freight and build a road network.
Mayor of Kolárova Béla Halász, after Tuesday’s tragedy, addressed a call to the Minister of Transport and county deputies.
« Everything was in vain. It’s time to stand up! Reduce the transit truck on the roads that can handle it! »
On June 10, he called the mayors of the municipalities in the district to agree to the Kolárovo to agree a common procedure. They want to create social and political pressure to solve the problem.

Despite the petition four years ago, trucks continue to cross the center of Kolárov.
« It is even worse. The traffic is still denser. In the past, the journey to Komárno took us about 20 minutes, now it is sometimes 40, » says Mayor Kolárovo.
