The Vardar Bridge near Bashino Selo at the entrance to Veles will be renovated on time
Reconstruction of the old and ruined bridge near Bashino Selo at one of the entrances to Veles is accelerated, and the contractor is « Syntek Engineering » DOOEL Skopje which started on March 21. From there, MIA informed today that things are going smoothly and that everything will be completed in accordance with the contract for three months, ie until June 21 this year.
Otherwise since the beginning of March, after two months of traffic ban, the bridge has been operated again, but now the traffic is only after the middle lane where the bridge is the slightest damage and is regulated by both sides with a traffic light.
-Trucking of trucks heavier than 40 tonnes is being triggered, and this is regulated by police teams from SIA Veles -informs MIA, Boban Hristov, Head of Syntek Engineering.
He clarified that the lower part of the bridge is treated during construction works, new type of pillars is installed to fasten them, and the most modern solution treats the bridge from the inside. At the same time by professors at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Skopje, state -of -the -art equipment under the bridge itself, which monitoring 24 hours, is monitored, and every movement along the bridge is recorded.
« So far there are no problems about it, because all vehicles adhere to the prescribed rules and there is no exceeding vehicles over 40 tonnes, » Hristov said.
He clarified that the sight of the pillars that is working does not bother traffic on the bridge.
-The carbon stripes are completed, and are currently working only on the protection from above, ie coating with boxing resin that is completed today. We have a reparate mortar, ie the remediation of softened concrete parts for which first breaks down all parts that are damaged by concrete, and then coated are reparatural mortar. Currently we are working on the last 9th and 10th fields this week and they will be completed. This will remain the reinforcement of the main bridge carriers that are damaged and rolled them out and strengthen their lower side. The first and second field are reinforced, we will start shaking and concreting in the coming days, and then it will work in parallel. Then we have to set up the steel that is from our production, which is currently working. We also need steel connections on the pillars, which would strengthen the bridge construction. We plan to be over by June 21 as provided for in the deadline, to be completed and the bridge to be reconstructed – Hristov explained.
He informs that they are constantly in coordination with the professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Skopje and the Public Enterprise for State Roads (PESTP) that monitors their work.
The reconstruction of this bridge is funded by the PESPP, ie the Government, and the project is worth 24,614,554 denars or about 400,000 euros without VAT. The rehabilitation of the bridge at Bashino Selo should initially extend his life of use for 5 to 10 years.
