The Valmiera Theater will show a documentary about the theater reconstruction / day

Documentary The story of our home has been created for three years since the end of 2021, when theater reconstruction works were started. It premiered in December last year at the closing prize ceremony. It documented the transformations of the building and its inhabitants' daily lives and feelings, living in constant repairs.

During the reconstruction of the Valmiera Theater building (2021-2024), the artistic activity was not interrupted for a while – preparation of new productions and performances in the round hall. The promised one -ending winter grew into three. Attempts and performances took place in different places in Valmiera, but the theater building, despite the lack of water and heat, was not left for a moment – the builder's equipment through dust and cold actors and the rest of the theater people went to the rehearsal hall, round hall, carpentry, administration to work there as if nothing is unusual and difficult.

Directed by Liene Lavina, being a « theater child », has been able to film the irrational – the inner house of the theater together with the creative team. Movie as a feeling and time stained glass. High song for theater people's patience, self -denial, and faith. Also, the ability to get childishly fascinated and fake. Also in a crazy situation, keep laughing, dull and traveling. The film is also a thanksgiving story for audiences who are still loyal, nowhere in beautiful outfits and high -heeled shoes, continues to experience theater even in the conditions of reconstruction.
