The next round of nuclear negotiations between the USA and Iran will take place in Rome on Saturday. The talks are conveyed by the Oman, they should lead to a new agreement on the Iranian nuclear program if possible. After the first round in Oman’s capital Maskat a week ago, both sides had spoken of « constructive » conversations, but Tehran recently expressed « serious doubts » about Washington’s intentions.
Western states have been accusing Iran for years to strive for the construction of nuclear weapons what Tehran denies. The United States had unilaterally withdrawn from an international agreement on the Iranian nuclear program in 2015 on the Iranian nuclear program. Trump has been pushing for a new agreement since his return to the White House – and threatens Iran in the event of a failure of the talks with a military approach.
