The tricolors want to get their stream in San Marino
On Monday night, from 9:45 pm, Romania will play at the Serravalle Stadium in San Marino, with the representative of the small host country. The match takes place after the horror debut, 0-1 at home with Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the preliminaries CM 2026.
San Marino covers only 61 square km and has a population of 30,000 inhabitants. It is the oldest sovereign state in Europe and has, paradoxically, one of the highest GDPs per capita on our continent: $ 54,425.
If the GDP suggests a very high standard of living for its inhabitants, who are as well below those of a sector in Bucharest, the basis being the banking system and the electronic industry, instead in the sport chapter the results are more than modest. But it is a natural thing, because you can’t perform much performance at an almost non -existent selection area.
And yet, the national football team that tricolors will meet on Monday night on a stadium of only 5000 seats has achieved what no one would have believed at the end of last year: promotion from League D in League C of the League of Nations. Under these conditions, it has an incredible place for a dam for the final tournament of the CM of 2026!
Romania, which was credited with the second chance in the group after the team from the first ballot box, Austria, lost home with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Under these conditions, it is seen as finishing in 3rd place, with the specification that if they were not ranking on one of the first two places it still has the presence at the dam matches through the League of Nations and could give Ukraine or Hungary.
Normally, at the difference of value, only the problem of the score to which the tricolors will be imposed should be raised. The hosts have only one professional player in the lot, the striker Nanni from the C Torres series team.
San Marino lost the first match of this campaign in Nicossia, 0-2 with Cyprus, after, at the break, the score was 0-0. It is clear that it will park all the buses in your own half, to limit the proportions of the failure. Mircea Lucescu has Daniel Bîrligea and Florin Tanase, both from FCSB, and Olimpiu Moruțan (PISA). Adrian Şut is uncertain.
The coach will change the system 4-3-3 with a 4-1-4-1, and among the players who have not evolved in the match with Bosnia will appear Adrian Rus Central defender, Alex Chipciu left defender. Also, Ianis Hagi and Alex Mitriță will enter the beginning. Lucescu disturbed by the fact that he showed his finger as the main guilty for the goal taken by Bosnians Mihai Popescu, although all the defense was wrong, starting from Rațiu, who escaped near him on the Kolasinac defender, from which he pointed out.
