The tram route / day will change significantly from May in Riga

A new tram route No.14 will open, which will connect Iļģuciems to Kengarags. It will also run low -floor trams, providing more convenient access in the direction of Iļģuciems.

These trams will travel along the Riga International Bus Station, giving the residents of Pardaugava the opportunity to get around the Central Market.

The current route 2 will be extended to Mīlgrāvis and will continue to run with a new number – No. 8 – « Mīlgrāvis – Wallet Street ».

On weekends, part of the flights will be organized on the « Stacijas Square – Tapes Street » section and will be labeled 8a route number. The intensity of the movement will remain equivalent to the tram 2. Passengers will also have the opportunity to switch to other tram routes that will be mutually agreed.

Taking into account that the new Route 14 will be available to the people of Iļģuciems, the intervals of Tram 5 will change.

The « Iļģuciems – Mīlgrāvis » route will be preserved, but changes will be made in the movement lists, increasing the interval between flights. These changes will be fully offset by the new route 14 in the direction of Iļģuciems, as well as the route 8th direction of the Mīlgrāvis.

After the construction of the Rail Baltica overpass in April, the tram movement to the Central Market will be restored. 10.The tram will run on the Circle of Central Market counterclockwise.

The route from Bishumuiža will move to the November 11 embankment, then along Lastadia and Central Market Street to the stop « Bus Station », further back to the usual route on Prague and 13 January.

The name of the route will not change, and the number of flights will remain the same as before the tram run to the station square.

Departure times will be reviewed on trams 1, 7 and 11 to ensure better matching with the trams 5, 8, 10 and 14 in the joint stages. The number of flights will not be changed, but the distribution of trams between 3 and 5 depots will be clarified, informs the municipality.
