The ten brightest amateur theater productions will compete for the title of annual performance 2024 / day

Will be determined during the show final Annual Show 2024, as well as jury recognitions in different categories. The final of the year’s show is traditionally held in May, just before the theater season ends.

This year’s amateur theater productions will be evaluated by theater scientist Līga Ulberte, director Elmārs Seņkovs, Rita Lurina, Chairman of the Amateur Theater Advisory Council, stage speech teacher, director Aina Matīsa and Annual Show 2023 Winner Aija Treija.

Saturday, May 17, Jurmala Theater 10.20 Show of Jurmala Theater Children and Youth Studio The coming of a stranger, Create Louise Pastor’s work, directed by Juris Jonel; Jurmala Theater 12.50 Independent Youth Theater Show Me and we, Rainis Blowing winds, Director Mikus Krastins; Jurmala Culture Center 15.00 will be on view at the Livani Cultural Center amateur theater Vadim Korza play Defrosted, director Oskars Berzins; Jurmala Theater 17.20 Jekabpils People’s Theater will be performed by Andrus Kivirehka Estonian funeraldirector Inta Ubele; Jurmala Culture Center 19.15 Jelgava New Theater will show William Shakespeare’s work Macbeth, Directed by Antra Leite-Straume.

Sunday, May 18, Jurmala Culture Center 9.30 The new flour theater will show Elena Ferrante’s work Adult false life, Director Liga Milta; Jurmala Culture Center 13.20 Liepaja Independent Theater Show Some summer evenings, Director Daina Kandevica; Jurmala Theater 15.20 Uldis Sedlenieks Aluksne Folk Theater will show Martin Zivert’s play Flush, Director Daiga Beter; Jurmala Theater 17.10 Jurmala Theater will offer Harry Swan’s play Oliver, Director Imants Jaunzems, and at the end of the day at the Jurmala Theater 19.20 Rezekne Folk Theater will show Arvja Kolmanis’ work Dachshund’s stories, Directed by Mara Zaļaiskalns.

Between January 13 and April 6, the jury evaluated 55 performances. The regional shots jury was evaluated by theater and cultural professionals – theater scientist Līga Ulberte, theater and dance critic Dita Jonīte, Casting director and speech lecturer Mara Liniņa, actor and stage designer Andis Strods, actress and scenographer Inga Siliņa Expert Dzintars Krūmiņš, playwright Aiva Birbele, director Paula Pļavniece, Aktirs Rūta Holendere and actor, director, Latvian National Culture Center amateur theater expert Jurģis Spullenieks.

Annual Shows 2024 The final is organized by the Latvian National Culture Center in cooperation with Jurmala Theater and the Jurmala Culture Center. The aim of the Latvian Amateur Theaters Productions organized by the Latvian National Center for Culture is to ensure the preservation and continuity of amateur theaters in Latvia and the Latvian diaspora, to promote amateur theater productions in Latvian society and to motivate amateur theater members to work for creative activities.
