The suspended session of the City Council of Skopje, which was expected to discuss the illegal buildings in Cair
The City Council of Skopje was due to hold its 19th extraordinary session today, which was expected to discuss illegal buildings in the municipalities of Cair and Saraj. Since former Council President Trajko Slaveski has been appointed Governor of the National Bank, according to the Rules of Procedure, the session was to be led by the oldest adviser, Halide Paloshi of DUI. But because of her absence, on the proposal of the SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE advisors, Nikola Panovski was chaired by the session.
At today’s session, the City of Skopje Council was expected to discuss illegal buildings in the municipalities of Cair and Saraj at two separate emergency sessions-the first on the initiative of the SDSM advisory group, and the second of VMRO-DPMNE-the session ended before it began. The reason was that the majority of councilors, led by VMRO-DPMNE, did not vote the agenda. At the beginning of the session, the Mayor of the City of Skopje Danela Arsovska took a word about a pro -appeared address, and some of the councilors thought it was not an address for the procedures and demanded that her word be taken away.
Although it was voted for the basis for holding an extraordinary session on the proposal of SDSM councilors for illegal buildings in Cair, VMRO-DPMNE councilors did not support the agenda. Thus, the session was suspended before the debate began despite the presence of Mayor Danela Arsovska and directors of public city enterprises.
Arsovska then went out to the rostrum and again accused them of what she said was « criminals and counterfeits » by the Mayor of Cair, Visar Ganiu, which sparked a fierce altercation between her and VMRO-DPMNE advisers, who asked Panovski to take her the word.
After verbal conflict and insults, councilor Stefan Kirkov withdrew the proposal of VMRO-DPMNE for the second extraordinary session dedicated to the illegal buildings in Saraj, on the grounds that citizens do not deserve to be witnesses of the « circus » that is taking place in the City Council of Skopje.
-It is illusory, populist and fully transparent to consider that the illegal buildings will be resolved by one session of the City Council of Skopje, this is a megan where the SDSM and Levica coalition are making a theater and circus from the work in the City of Skopje. For four years Danela Arsovska had time to respond to all illegal buildings, now in the last four months he decided to do populism and a theater that we have not accepted, illegal buildings have not happened in the last year, nor will they be resolved for the next four months. But there are those in this hall that have been in power for 20 years with all authorities and are silent on illegal buildings. There are institutions and those institutions should work in accordance with the law. To finish this is our appeal and therefore because there was no agenda where there was a spectacle and a public idea to be made here. We will not participate in politics – Kirkov said.
Ljubica Janceva, Coordination of the SDSM Advisory Group and the coalition of the City Council of Skopje in a statement to the media that VMRO-DPMNE’s councilors and I know they withdrew their own point, only « to save the urban mafia ».
-If anyone has so far been crystal clear the criminal coalition of VMRO-DPMNE, and the pendant from I know, today at a session of the City Council of Skopje it has become crystal clear. VMRO-DPMNE councilors, Vlno and I know today withdrew their point of discussion on the agenda of the City Council of Skopje because they noticed late that they had requested a discussion on « illegal buildings in the municipality of Saraj and other municipalities in the City of Skopje ». After realizing that the councilors at the session of the City of Skopje Council would have the opportunity to discuss both the illegal buildings in Saraj and in Cair and other municipalities, they rushed to prevent the session they were looking for. What does Mickoski hide and who protects Pance Toskoski? Why consciously VMRO-DPMNE’s councilors and I know they are defending criminals when they only receive crumbs from Mickoski, Ganiu and Medziti? How long will VMRO-DPMNE rule the urban mafia in Skopje and the country? How much money is enough to satisfy the appetites of Mickoski, Ganiu and Medziti and to stop putting the lives of citizens in danger?
