The Ministry of Education and Culture has decided not to recover interest from the unjustified benefit. At the same time, the amount to be recovered is moderately moderated by 50 %. The total amount to be returned is EUR 2,119,484. Originally the amount, with interest, was EUR 4,431,332.

Recovery was started because the Ministry considered that the School Foundation had acted contrary to the provisions of the Basic Education Act and the Upper Secondary School Act, as well as the provisions of teaching and education.

Government On June 16, 2022, granted a permit for providing pre-and basic education to the Finnish School Foundation on the Sunshine Coast. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Culture also granted the Foundation a permit for the organization of upper secondary education to the Foundation on 17 June 2022. At the same time, the ministry withdrew the previously in force of the Finnish School of Finnish School Support Association.

However, the transfer of education and education from the association to the foundation did not materialize as described in the Foundation's applications.

The Ministry considered that teaching and training in the academic year 2022-2023 and in the fall semester 2023 was actually organized by a support association, which had not had a valid teaching or training permit at that time.

The unjustified interest shall be returned by December 31, 2029.
