The sunnier and slightly warmer time promises only next week / day

This week will continue to take place with mostly cloudy and rainy weather, with frosts at night, and a gusty wind on the seashore. New week’s precipitation will cease, the sun will often shine and the air will remain warmer, although at the end of next week, Latvia will once again reach a cooler air mass.

The Riga Marathon events will take place in Latvia over the weekend. On Saturday, the sky will remain mostly cloudy, but in places, however. At night, precipitation is expected only in some areas, with a slow to moderate east wind blowing, and in some places the northeast of the country will form fog, which will significantly make it difficult to see. On the other hand, the day is expected to be large in most territory.

At night the air will cool down to +2, +6 degrees, but during the day warm to +10, +14 degrees.

On Sunday, the weather will remain similar – most of the sky will be cloudy and the area is expected to rain in most areas, with a thunderstorm in places. Slow to moderate northern, northeast wind, which will intensify during the day, with gusts of 15 m/s on the Kurzeme coast.

The air temperature will stick around +4, +9 degrees at night, but during the day the thermometer will rise as high as in the previous days, in the northeast areas even a few more degrees – up to +15, +16 degrees.

In the coming days, the rivers are expected to increase in the coming days. In places in rivers, the water level can rise rapidly, especially in the smallest watercourse pools. There is a possibility that the water level in some river sections during this period will be 0.8-1.5 meters, and flooding and lower places are possible.

The sun will shine more often and the rainfall will fall, even though the clouds will continue to cover the sky and will bring rain to the south of the country on Monday. Slow to moderate northern winds on Tuesday will turn from west, northwest, in the middle of the week it will be gusty.

The nights will remain slightly warmer and frost is not expected – the air will cool down to +3, +9 degrees, at night on Monday the thermometer will not slip even below +7, +11 degrees. As the week begins with +13, +18 degrees for warm days, the weather will gradually remain slightly cooler again.
