The Sunday of Flowers – the feast of faith and hope – the angle – see the world as it is!

On the eve of the Easter holidays, the Independence Square in the municipality of Ungheni hosted an event for the first time – the flower fair. After officiating the divine service at the « Alexandru Nevski » Cathedral, a priest of priests accompanied by parishioners with willow branches in their hands went to the city market to record this day in a unique way.
With a message about the significance of the Flowers’ feast came to the public the High Priest Peter, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni. « The Sunday of Flowers, signifies the beginning of the Easter holidays. It is a day for the soul, to receive blessing and spiritual reinforcement. Today we celebrate the entry of our Lord Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, the flowers are sanctified and it is a beautiful Christian holiday. »
With a word of greeting to those present came Vitalie Vrabie, the mayor of Ungheni, who mentioned about the importance and beauty of this day, about the need to perpetuate the Christian traditions that define us as a nation.
The officials together with the church faces visited the exhibitions within the fair and appreciated the involvement of the community in the respective event. Food, handicraft and monastery products were exhibited by economic agents, folk crafts and church faces. The part of the holiday program were handicraft workshops, eggs and traditional cuisine.

A special charm gave him the holiday, the evolutions of the groups: the « Golden Age » folk formation, led by Ion Halipli; The vocal ensemble « Harmonia », led by Iozefina Vizitiu and the choir of the Episcopal Cathedral Ungheni and Nisporeni, conductor of the priestess Liliana Rotari. Those present had the opportunity to listen to a program of Easter songs, to meditate on the spiritual content and to penetrate the essence of the divine message.
With willow branches sanctified in hand, traditional flowers by the feast of Flowers, those present were impressed by the Pascal event.

A fun moment for the little ones was the activity of « egg hunting », which involved the search for eggs in the vicinity of the Independence Market. This challenge aroused the curiosity of the little ones and raised them a good mood. Those who collected most eggs were chosen with different prizes from the organizers.
