The students of the Ungheni rayon sports school, champions at the European Kickboxing Championship in Bulgaria – the angle – see the world as it is!
The athletes from the Ungheni rayon sports school brought a great pride to the municipality, becoming champions and winning medals at the European Kickboxing 2025 championship, held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, between 20 and 23 February. At the competition that brought together 21 countries and 2300 athletes, young champions from Ungheni demonstrated an exceptional training, obtaining medals and bringing home five prizes from the seven places of participation, reports Ungheni District Council.
The results obtained by young sportsmen are remarkable in different categories: Cătălin Glodeanu – 1st place; Dorin Goian and Lilian Starosta – 2nd place; Nicolae Burlacu and Cătălin Ermurachi – 3rd place; Vladislav Brăguța and Sorin Cucu – V.
Coach Alexandru Popa was with athletes in this way, guiding them with dedication.
In support of these performances, Mr. Dionisie Ternovschi, the chairman of the Commission of the Fund for the Raion performance athletes, together with the councilors Eduard Bejenari and Ghenadi Mitriuc, as well as the directors of the Sport Schools in Ungheni, decided to provide financial support for the athlete's journey to the competition.
