The state prosecution requested the maximum possible time for participants in the Tagansk organized crime group
The maximum possible deadlines – 25 years – requested a state prosecution for four participants in the oldest Tagan criminal group in Moscow, whose members were found guilty of murders, banditry and other crimes. The prosecutors also reacted to the rest of their accomplices with their severity, offering to send them to places of imprisonment for 23 or 24 years.
In the Moscow City Court, in the process of participants in the Taganskaya organized criminal group (organized crime group), the parties discussed the legal consequences of the jury verdict, which previously found the defendants guilty of serious and especially serious crimes. The leader of the group Igor Zhirnokleev was the state prosecution requested 25 years in prison with the first 12 years in prison, the rest – from 23 to 25 years. The prosecutor proposed to all defendants to impose a fines from 2 million to 5 million rubles as an additional punishment. And, in addition, to satisfy the civil lawsuits of the victims, which in total amount to almost 1 billion rubles. The prosecutors noted that this should be partially done at the expense of the arrested property of the defendants, partly at the expense of the funds that they will earn in conclusion.
It should be noted that according to the incriminated defendant articles of the Criminal Code, the statute of limitations have already come out. However, according to the law, if the punishment for the crime provides for a lifelong impression, then only the court decides whether to release the defendants from criminal liability.
Moreover, in any case, he can no longer appoint a lifelong. Therefore, the prosecutors requested either the maximum terms (25 years), or close to them. At the same time, they asked the court to take into account the “nature of the increased public danger of the defendants, each of which for a long time was the leader or member of the criminal gang.”
In turn, lawyers asked the court to show condescension, indicating that the purpose of the law is to “restore justice, not punish”.
The defendants themselves also performed in court. “I am 67 years old, I have 11 chronic diseases. For 25 years I will not live in any way. I won’t stand the 12 years of the special regime, ”said Mr. Zhirnokleev.“ I do not admit anything. ” I have not committed any crimes. «
“After the collapse of the USSR, we acted in the same way as everyone. Already in the zero no gang, we were united only by love for fishing, computer games and alloys on rivers, ”the defendant Tretyak said. He also asked to introduce his personal characteristics from the pre -trial detention center to the case file. Having studied it, the judge said that for the first time he sees the word “courteous” in such a document.
The accused Lukyanov said that he was not involved in the activities of the Tagan organized crime group, and learned about her crimes only in jail. His accomplice Balashov noted that he was actually in another criminal group, so he should not be judged with the « Taganski ». “We were in different trenches,” he said. And the defendant Yukhnevich said that according to the results of medical examinations and according to the testimony of witnesses, he is a drunken alcoholic and therefore “does not remember at all,” how he led the organized crime group. Finally, the accused Shcherbakov asked the court to be condescending to him, since he, being a master of sports of international boxing class, “represented Russia and glorified domestic sport abroad”.
Speaking about the civil lawsuits of the victims, the defense noted that their size is unreasonably large, and asked to transfer them to civil proceedings.
Recall that the process, which first began in May 2022, dragged on greatly due to the fact that, in the course of the proceedings, three jury colleges broke up for various reasons. Each time, the court had to select new assessors and only in March 2025 managed to get to the verdict.
Igor Zhirnokleev, Oleg Rusanov, Boris Tretyak, Dmitry Yukhnevich, Igor Balashov, Gennady Lukyanov, Sergey Shcherbakov, German Grishin, Sergey Schukarev, Marat Yangbuktin and Grigory Rabinovich (died in June 2024, but relatives objected to the termination of the case) are held in the case. Depending on the role in the organized crime group, they are found guilty of creating and participating in an armed gang and criminal community, murders, abductions, theft, robbery, extortion and illegal turnover of weapons (part 2 of article 209; part 2 of article 210; paragraphs “a”, “c”, “d”, “g.” Part 2 of article 105; 126; According to investigators, the organized crime group was created in the early 1990s and acted mainly on the territory of the Moscow region. It is alleged that, under the leadership of Zhirokhokleev and Rabinovich, several murders were committed. The most high -profile crime, the incriminated “Tagansky”, was the murder of lawyer Natalia Vavilina in 2017.
