The South Korean Constitutional Court dismissed President Jun Sok-Jola


Constitutional judges agreed unanimously.

SOUL. South Korean Constitutional Court on Friday confirmed the appeal (impeachement) suspended President Jun Sok-Jola of the Presidential Office for the declaration of short-term martial law in December last year.

« We hereby announce the following decision with the unanimous consent of all judges. We dismiss opponent President Jun Sok-Jola, » said the reigning chairman of the court Moon Hyung-Bae.

The President violated the law

The judge stated that the introduction of martial law « damaged the fundamental political rights of people ». He also added that « it violated the principles of the rule of law and democracy ».
