The son of a CIA director died in Ukraine

The son of the deputy director of a department of the central US Information Agency (CIA) died in the Ukraine war, while fighting in the Russian army, the EFE agency, quoted by Agerpres, reports on Friday.

American Michael Gloss, 21, announced on August 13, 2023, in a conversation with his friends, that he is in Russia, in Vladikavkaz, the capital of Northern Ossetia. A month later, on September 5, his name appeared on the medical database of Moscow, in the records of a military commissioner known for the recruitment of foreign fighters.

Subsequently, he was taken to a military training center in the Moscow region, where he was identified in several videos on social networks, recorded by Nepalese mercenaries, in which the young American appeared dressed in military uniform.

Michael Gloss last accessed his social media account on March 14, 2024, and two weeks later the division in which he was enlisted to the positions of the Ukrainian army.

He died on April 4, 2024 and was buried eight months later in his native county, Fairax, near Washington.

The young American had previously traveled through the world in humanitarian missions, including in Turkey, following the devastating earthquake of 2023.

Friends and family say he was concerned about ecology, but also social policies, and very hostile to US foreign policy.

They say they did not notice any sympathy for Russia. His mother, Juliane Gallina, has been working in American secret services for over 30 years, also working in the army, and since February 2024 is a deputy director in the Digital Innovation Department.

His father, Larry Gloss, veteran of the Navy and participant in the « Desert Storm » operation, for the release of Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion, also had links with American intelligence services through activities in the cyber security sector.
