The Schengen co-operation was a mistake

It turned out to be a devastating mistake when it was decided that Iceland became a member of the Schengen cooperation. This is stated by Úlfar Lúðvíksson, a former police chief in the Suðurnes region, in a new interview on the sponsorship.

The partnership includes the abolition of personal surveillance of the internal borders of the 27 states that are members of it, while at the same time cooperation between European police forces, which is intended to ensure the security of citizens in the region.

Security considerations not to enter

« If you look at security considerations, Iceland should never have gone into this partnership, » says Úlfar. He points out that there are great weaknesses in the so -called internal borders. This has been abundantly revealed because of an unreasonable situation in the Mediterranean, where people flow into Europe and into these borders without a stripe being built.

Wolves says that despite this, there is a remedy to better work out the situation that is created on the basis of the Schengen cooperation. However, it is sad that this has not been done and the border has largely been exposed for many years.

Úlfar Lúðvíksson is the newest guest of Stefán Einar Stefánsson in question.

Wants officials to depart

There, the Minister of Justice is responsible, but not least Haukur Guðmundsson, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Justice, and Sigríður Björk Guðjónsdóttir State Police Chief. They both have a seat on the National Security Council. Wolves says that their neglect in these matters is caused by both their offices.
