The Sacred Music Festival / Day will be performed in Ventspils County

Traditionally, the historical organ of different ages is performed by well -known Latvian and foreign organists, often joined by soloists and ensembles, as well as young organists who learn their skills at Ventspils Music High School. The artistic director of the festival is Janis Kalniņš, the organ.

The event will be performed by the new ones – May 24th at 9 p.m. 16 Agnese Stepānova, Loreta Gutshmite and Klāvs Berks, including educators Ilze Reine and Gatis Poriņš, will sit at the Valker company organized by Ventspils Music High School in 1898.

Concert program Glittering moment On June 27, the Zlēkas Evangelical Lutheran Church is scheduled to re -reveal the richness of Latvian authors ‘chamber music and the colorful diversity of Latvian authors’ chamber music again at the most gorgeous moment. The concert program includes outstanding original works of Latvian composers – organ music and vocal chamber music. J. Vītola, E. Dārziņa, A. Kalniņa, L. Garuta, H. Spring, J. Kalniņa, B. Skulte, V. Dārziņa, M. Zariņa and I. Zemzars writings. Especially this year we mention composer Emil Darzins in his 150s. The soloist Laura Kancāne (soprano) will perform at the concert, Vita Kalnciema at the organ and the piano.

On July 19, Jānis Karpovičs – organ – and Laura Muceniece – Baroque Trombone – will allow us to sound in the Baroque era of such an everyday but unheard of organ and « bazmen ». The concert will feature compositions by JS Bacha and his contemporaries.

On July 26, Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine (soprano), ⁠ieva Niemane (Baroka Oboya, Blocflauta), ⁠las Meldere-Shestakova (Baroque violin), Positive workshops. Together the outstanding musicians make up the ensemble Bach d’Mour. The program is compositions by JS Bacha and GF Teleman.

On August 10, Evia Martinson (soprano) and Jolanta Barinska (organ) will perform at the church. During the concert Con anima The soul will cool down in the beloved melodies of Western Europe and Latvian composers.

On August 26, James D. Hicks, an organist from the United States, will visit the Ugale Church. He has studied organ play at several US universities and the Royal Music School in England. He has performed a lot in the US, Europe, New Zealand and Australia, and has recorded 16 organ music albums. Over the past 15 years, organ music entered the organist’s special interests and a series of records Nordic Journey.

On September 6, Līga Ivāne (organ) and Ieva Veide (Kokle) will perform at the closing concert of the festival at Popes Church With faith in the heart. It will be a real Latvian concert not only in terms of the program, as it will feature only Latvian authors’ pieces, but also the unusual connection of organ and kokle sounds will reaffirm that the Latvian people have to enrich the Christian identity of Europe.
