Initial reports talked about one fatal and six wounded. Local authorities reported that the Russian attack affected the suburbs of Sum, a city located only 30 km from the border with Russia, which due to its strategic location is almost every day under fire.
Oleh Hryhorov, Governor of the Sumid District, informed about the event. « As a result of a rocket attack of the enemy on the outskirts of the sum, the child was killed. I put my most sincere condolences to my parents. I submit the most sincere condolences to his parents, » he wrote on Facebook.
In the latest announcement, Hryhorov announced that as a result of a Russian attack, three people lost their lives-a six-year-old boy, a 20-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man. He also added that eight people, including four children, were injured and are currently in medical facilities. The condition of two of them is referred to as critical.
Attack on Palm Sunday
A similar brutal attack on the sum took place in mid -April, when Russian rockets hit civilians returning from the church, in which 35 people were killed and over 100 were injured. There were many children among them.
The bullets fell on the city center while people returned or went to the church in connection with the Palm Sunday celebrated in Ukraine. Many people also walked around the boulevard in the central part of the city.
In response to this tragedy, the president Wołodymyr Zelanski he did not change in words and called the perpetrators « plugged scum« .
