The Russian farm market in the first quarter grew to 814 billion rubles.
In the first quarter of this year, the volume of the pharmaceutical market of Russia increased to 814 billion rubles-by 11% relative to the same period of the 2024th, experts of DSM-Group calculated.
The pharmacy segment, which accounts for a large market share (553 billion rubles), increased by 8.4%, the public procurement sector at the same time showed almost twice as much growth – plus 15%. In terms of state procurement, the maximum growth showed the sector of regional preferential drugs – it increased by 23%, to 78 billion rubles. Hospital purchases increased by 16%, to 124 billion rubles. The segment of preferential drug support (including the program “14 nosologies”) for the first quarter of 2025 added 4.9%.
As the head of DSM-Group Sergei Shulyak notes, the growth of the state procurement segment in January-March is due to a long tender procedure-state procurers want to conclude contracts in the spring to provide themselves with stable supplies for the first half of the year or even for the whole year. At the same time, it connects a relatively small increase in the pharmacy market with abnormally warm winter – such weather conditions reduced the number of cases of SAV, therefore, the demand for a whole list of anti -industrial drugs turned out to be lower than last year. Note that the pharmacy market in the first quarter showed maximum dynamics in the parapharmaceutical segment – it increased by 16%, to 114 billion rubles. The segment of « mass » drugs, which account for the main part of sales, during which time has grown by only 6.5%.
Both in the hospital and pharmacy segments, sales of drugs worth more than 1 thousand rubles grew faster than others. For packaging – now their share in the market is 36.2%, while a year ago it was 32.1%. The share of drugs worth up to 500 rubles, on the contrary, decreased from 33% to 29%.
Such dynamics confirms the earlier DSM-Group forecast regarding the prospects of the market for 2025. Analysts expect that according to the results of 12 months, the Russian pharmaceutical market will grow by 14.6%, to 3.266 trillion rubles. The public procurement sector will increase to 1 trillion rubles, a commercial segment – up to 1.8 trillion rubles. According to the results of 2024, the farm market in Russia grew only for inflation – by 10%, to 2.85 trillion rubles. The real increase was provided by the commercial sector – sales in it increased by 13.8%, while purchases of drugs in the state segment grew by only 2.6%, this happened against the backdrop of limiting the increase in prices for vital drugs (See “Kommersant” from April 1).
