The Romanian hunter by me, sent on a mission in the Black Sea
The M270 hunter « Sub -lieutenant Ion Ghiculescu » left the Constanta military port to participate in the fifth activation of the operative group to combat the Black Sea, along with three other ships, from Bulgaria and Turkey.
The General Staff of the Naval Forces (SMFN) informed that the M270 hunter « Sub -lieutenant Ion Ghiculescu », with a team of scaffolding against explosive devices (EOD) on board, left on Tuesday, June 10, from the Constanta Military Port, to participate, until the end of June, in the Fifth Group – Black Sea Tg (Mine Counter-Measures Black Sea Task Group). Next to the Romanian ship, two ships of the Naval Forces of Bulgaria and a ship of the Naval Forces of Turkey will be part of the naval group.
« Between June 14-22, the four ships will participate in the McM Dive 25 ‘Partnership Multinational Exercise, organized by the Romanian Naval Forces, which will take place in maritime districts in the Black Sea and in the Constanta Military Port. The role of the MCM Black Sea operation is to perform search and rescue actions on the sea, Supervisory, recognition and neutralization activities of navigation hazards ”, states in the statement sent by SMFN.
During the mission, the naval group will have stops, to restore the fighting capacity, in the ports of Burgas (Bulgaria), Constanta (Romania) and Istanbul (Turkey).
The M270 Mine70 hunter « Sub-lieutenant Ion Ghiculescu » has a crew of 45 soldiers on board and is ordered by Lieutenant-Commander Denis Giubernea.
