A commemorative march ”on the footsteps of the Romanian heroes fallen on the western front- Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech » ended on Saturday through the ceremony in Brno Dedicated to the Romanian military fallen in the area of ​​the Republic of the Czech Republic, according to a statement sent by MND.

The Secretary of State for the relationship with the Parliament and the quality of the life of the staff, Eduard Bacare, participated on Saturday, April 26, in the ceremony of honoring the Romanian heroes who fell on debt in World War II on the current territory of the Czech Republic and buried in the Honor Parsa in the Central Cemetery in Brno.

The historical context of the presence of Romanian heroes in Brno, 80 years ago, is a tragic and sacrificial one. Between April 25 – May 9, 1945, during the offensive for the liberation of Czechoslovakia, the 1 Romanian Army played a crucial role in the area of ​​Brno, an important political and economic center of the region. On April 26, 1945, the Romanian military released the city, but many of them lost their lives in these struggles.

During the ceremony, wreaths were laid, and the religious service for the commemoration of the Romanian war dead was followed by the solemn utterance of the names of the heroes buried in the Cemetery in Brno, as a form of gratitude and respect. The restoration of the Romanian Heroes Park in the Necropolis from Brno, in 2005, represents the proof of the good cooperation between Romania and the Czech Republic.

The event was attended by the representative of the General Staff of Defense, the brigadier general Cristinel-Dumitru Colibaba, the Romanian ambassador to the Czech Republic, his excellence, Antoaneta Barta, along with representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Department for War Veterans and the Czech grave in the Czech Republic and the Czech Republic. As a sign of respect for the hosts, the Romanian delegation laid a crown of flowers at the Czech Heroes Monument in the Central Cemetery.

After the ceremony, the Romanian delegation participated in the reception organized at the headquarters of the City Hall of Brno, during which the Romanian officials have awarded commemorative medals and diplomas to the mayors of the Czech Republic issued by the Romanian Army, who, through the constant concern that it manifests against the Romanian commemorative objectives, the Romanian commemorative.

The project is supported by the Ministry of National Defense, the Department for the Relations with the Parliament and the quality of the life of the personnel and the General Staff of the Defense.
