The Disciplinary Commission within FIFA has sanctioned the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) with a fine and the closing of areas of lawns at the next match for the incidents caused by the supporters of the national team of Romania at the parties with Bosnia-Herzegovina and San Marino in the preliminaries for the 2026 World Cup.

FRF announced on Friday on his official website that he was informed about the decisions taken by the FIFA disciplinary commission following the reports drawn up at the Romania-Bosnia and Herzegovina and San Marino-Romania parties, played on March 21 and 24, on the National Arena in Bucharest, respectively the Serraval Stadium.

Thus, for the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FIFA disciplinary commission had a fine of 3,500 Swiss francs (CHF), about 3,730 euros, and the dispute of the next match with 15% of the closed stadium, in the area of ​​the lawns. In addition, it also had a fine of 20,000 CHF (21,300 euros) suspended for the next 6 months, ie applicable only in the event of new incidents to the following parties played by the national team. The charges at the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina were: the use of pyrotechnic materials, discrimination (racism), security problems in organizing the match and throwing objects in the field.

Also, for the pyrotechnics that the Romanian supporters used in San Marino, the Romanian Football Federation was fined 26,000 CHF, about 27,700 euros.
