The robber Antonio Ferrara arrested in Belgium for a new project of armed attack – Liberation
The « king of the beautiful » again in the hands of justice. The multi -rindivist robber Antonio Ferrara was arrested in Belgium in a French survey carried out by the specialized interregional jurisdiction (JIRS) of Paris, informed the prosecution this Thursday, February 27, confirming information from several media. The Brussels prosecutor's office confirmed in the afternoon that Ferrara had been arrested with eleven other suspects: « At this stage, twelve people were arrested by the Belgian authorities. » There were arrests in Eupen and Brussels, but also searches made in France following these arrests, specifies the prosecution.
Three Belgians and five French people were arrested, including one of Antonio Ferrara's brothers. A member of the team of criminals was shot and a Belgian police officer was slightly injured after being overthrown by a car during the operation, according to News 17.
Nicknamed the « King of the Beauty » for having escaped twice in prison, Antonio Ferrara had been released in July 2022 from Reau Prison in Seine-et-Marne, after finishing his sentence. Born October 12, 1973 in southern Italy, installed with his family in Choisy-le-Roi, in Val-de-Marne, Antonio Ferrara was sentenced for robberies and an attempted murder, as well as for his two escapes. On the other hand, he had been acquitted in three cases of robbery of armored vans in 2009 and a post office in 2012.
Antonio Ferrara had escaped the first time from Fleury-Mérogis prison in Essonne in 1998 during a transfer to the hospital, then enjoying a long run until 2002. Then on March 12, 2003, he escaped from Fresnes prison in Val-de-Marne, with the help of accomplices disguised as police. His accomplices had attacked the establishment with a rocket launcher. It will be taken over four months later.
