The Riga Contemporary Art Space will host Zigfried’s exhibition of cinema wandering / day

The exhibition is an insight into the French -origin composer, musician, film director and world traveler (or rather Nomada) SIG (Siegfried Debrebant, But in Latvian – zigfried) in creative work. Although Zigfrid’s sudden death last fall has radically changed the process of creating this exhibition, and most likely how we look at his work, which is now revealed in his total totality, it is the manifestation of his ideas and presence.

The core of the exposure is made up of a movie movie Kinogamma I & II, which is more than two hours of an ecstatic world scope masterpiece. It is complemented by black -and -white analogue photos taken in his wandering, which can be seen as a complement to Zigfrid’s cinematic vision of the world, as a travel notes, or as an artistic study of the mysteries of the world and existence.

Zigfrid cinema and photo works are permeated by unmasked, perhaps even romantic enthusiasm with the seemingly ordinary, everyday, unimportant, almost invisible people of the world. The image here appears as a witness and interpret of the mystery of time and being, where the « decisive moment » of Breson blends into the presence of a mythical time, where all the present, the past and the future, where the blinker, and the time intertwined into one undistinction.

Zigfrid (Siegfried Debrebant,1973-2024) The first full-length movie movie Louise (Take 2) In 1998 was shown in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival.
