The Riga Book Festival / Day will take place at the beginning of March
The Riga Book Festival will be attended by 38 publishers who will offer the latest and favorite books, meetings with authors, discussions and creative workshops. Everyone will find something exciting and exploring for spring reading. Publishers will have provided books by various genres – both the latest translated literature and the brightest original works of Latvian authors. The offer will include art, poetry, linguistics, research, children's books, fantasy, romance, history and many more.
The offer of the cultural program will also be versatile and rich. The National Library of Latvia will invite tours with curators to get to know two libraries, reading, booking and book design exhibitions – The right to the library and The text is not interested in us. Visitors will also be able to try the reconstructed 16th -century printed press.
This spring's cultural program will find something for their own taste-discussions about the streets, e-books, music and jokes, meeting with domestic and foreign authors, book opening celebrations and special book readings. Younger readers will be offered creative activities, collective reading and emotion workshops, as well as meetings with your favorite book characters.
There will also be a book exchange point, where readers will be able to swap the already excellent book for another, equivalently great book. Book exchange organizers are calling for other readers and not offering a shift for waste paper, as well as the possibility of exchange for misuse and for commercial purposes.
