The exhibition ‘Resurrection of the Lord, the feast of immortality, given to people, in Romanian illustrated’ will be opened on Friday, from 1:00 pm, at the Bucharest Metropolitan Library (BMB), the headquarters ‘Mihail Sadoveanu’.
The exhibition explores the deep connection between the Romanian Easter traditions and the message of love and salvation of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, emphasizing the importance of this holiday and the way in which the Easter wishes were transmitted in the past, through postcards illustrated with Easter symbols, before the appearance of television and the telephone.
« This exhibition brings to the foreground an important part of our traditions, which are related to Easter and the teachings brought by the Resurrection of the Lord. Through the illustrations, we intend to render not only the beauty of these messages, but also their deep meanings, which tell us about love, hope and communion, » said Ramona Ioana.
During the second edition of the exhibition, the public in Bucharest will have the opportunity to admire new valuable, illustrated exhibits, views and postcards, which bring in front of us images that reflect the human brotherhood and compassion, being an invitation to reflection on self and our neighbor, as the Savior showed.
« The exhibition helps us to better understand the connection between our traditions and the spiritual message of Easter. It is a moment of return to our roots, to those habits that unite us and that emphasize the importance of love and solidarity between people, » added Archimandrit Policarp Chițulescu, a patriarchal counselor.
