The prosecutor’s office is accused of extorting up to 200,000 euros and defamation / day

Without mentioning the names of persons, the prosecutor’s office informed LETA that the Riga Northern Prosecutor’s Office had handed over a criminal case for extortion against a person against a person, demanding a legal basis for returning property, threatening to disclose shameful information about the victim and his relatives, and defamation to persons in the mass communication.

In criminal proceedings, the indictment was brought to two persons. According to the indictment, one of the accused has stated that the victim was to blame for his marriage and his wife’s departure. He is therefore intent to publish fictional allegations on Facebook and Instagram, as well as in the communication application, to obtain the benefit of the victim’s material.

Without any legal basis, EUR 15,000 – 20 000 euros were initially requested from the victims, but later the amount has reached as much as 200 000 euros, the indictment states. Following the mutual agreement of the two accused, the other one was involved as a mediator as a criminal offense. LETA is aware that the other accused in the case is in advance of the frauds of Gints Lazdiņš.

Taking into account that the victim did not pay the requested financial resources, one of the accused was repeatedly posted publications, which clearly expressly expressly respect and honor, thus moral pressure on the victim. Similarly, activities have also been threatened and implemented, which was aimed at irreversible damage to the victim’s reputation, written in the indictment.

In addition, one of the accused has committed another offense, namely, deliberately distributing deliberately false, disgraceful inventions of a person in the mass communication, raising the defamation of other persons.

The two accused persons do not admit their guilt.

Three persons were recognized as victims in criminal proceedings. LETA is aware that one of the victims is entrepreneur Agris Evertovskis.

Gobzem had previously blamed Evertovsky on social networks for disrupting his family, which has led to divorce with Gobzem’s former wife and mother of children Christ. Gobzem’s name -related channels on various social communication sites, as if in a blatant form, have been distributed by various assumptions and insults for other people more and less known in society.

Lazdiņš, on the other hand, was one of the accused in the former Jurmala councilor Maris Dzenītis and other criminal matters.
