So, in the minutes of the meetings, the authors of the appeal representation found the following phrases of protection: “You (jury. – « Kommersant ») You will face the facts of gross fraud ”and“ When it became obvious to the investigation that there is no evidence … ”. “I was afraid of the pressure from both the criminal world and from the organs,” said Mr. Madenov, and Walter Weber reported “the manipulations of operatives”.
At the same time, the defense, noted in the view, tried to form a certain attitude of the jury to the victims, telling about organized crime.
“The brigade is a term that was actively used in the 90s. Means the unification of strong young children, ” – sounded, for example, before the interrogation of one of the victims. At the same time, the victims were called « gangsters », which « also sorry. »
Obviously, in contrast, information was made that at that time Mr. Weber was an “absolutely wealthy person” who could even “buy a tank”.
The Prosecutor General’s Office insists on the cancellation of the sentence and verdict and re -examination of the criminal case in a different composition of the court. The defense sent her objections to the conclusions of the prosecution in writing. The lawyers and the defendants themselves did not discuss their lawyers.
Walter Weber was the president of the Children’s International Academy of Tennis, vice president of the Russian Tennis Federation and one of the leaders of DOSAAF. He acted as a co -founder of the socialist single party of Russia.
Together with Dmitry Madenov, he was accused of execution on June 6, 1995 of four previously convicted members of one of the capital’s groups in the « Tavern on the Mytnoy » and in organizing the murder in 2004 in the Mercedes car in Odintsovo Alexander Zhuravlev, one of the witnesses of the events of thirty years long ago. Mr. Weber himself, at that time, the head of one of the security companies, insisted that he tried to agree with the gangsters in the tavern about the return of a person’s security guard, who was selected from his security guard Madenov. The murder of Mr. Zhuravlev, according to the defense, had nothing to do with Walter Weber.
