Dolný Kubín. The General Prosecutor’s Office do not give the names of some streets in Dolny Kubin.
He has reservations mainly with the name of the square after Bishop Ján Vojtaššák.
Asks to rename the streets
Prosecutor General Prosecutor’s Office SR Peter Mihál addressed the town of Dolný Kubín protest. It concerns the name of two streets – Šmidke and General Svoboda and Square of Ján Vojtaššák. He proposed to cancel and rename them.
« The names of the streets and the naming of public spaces are determined taking into account the history of the municipality, the significant non -living personalities or things. It is unacceptable to name them after representatives of the Slovak Republic regime from 1939 to 1945 or the regime based on Communist ideology, » says the prosecutor’s protest.

If the city fails to comply with it, he may contact the Administrative Court with the action.
At the same time, Mihál informed that he was planning to attend the meeting of the municipal council where his protest will be discussed.
He has the biggest reservation against Ján Vojtaššák.
