The process on extortion of more than 23.5 million rubles has started. At the top manager « Rostec »

In the Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow, the process in the criminal case of entrepreneur Anton Safonov and pensioner Eduard Schurenkov began. They pass in the case of extortion of more than 23.5 million rubles. The top manager of Rostec Vasily Brovko, general director of PJSC Rosseti Andrei Ryumin and founder of Yota Albert Avdolyan. During the proceedings, which, at the request of the victims, will be held closed, the defense of Mr. Safonov petitioned the return of the case to the prosecutor.

She began the hearing, scheduled for two in the afternoon, the participants in the trial had to wait two and a half hours. At the same time, before letting lawyers and spectators into the hall, the assistant judge for some reason gathered all his passports. Anton Safonov, delivered under the escort from Butyrki, was happy that he had finally saw his wife, in dates with whom he was denied during the investigation. Eduard Schurenkov, who came to the court (he is under the belief, settled down at the table with the defense team.

It was expected that the prosecutor would put out the indictment and the defendants would express his attitude towards him. However, the lawyer Alexander Pankov, representing the interests of the victims, immediately petitioned the closure of the trial.

She motivated her request by the desire to prevent the further distribution of information that defers her. The lawyer expressed the opinion that “the consideration of the case in the open process may provoke a re -wave of the distribution of defamatory materials,” which concerned the private and business reputation of its customers. She recalled that the metropolitan courts have already considered a number of similar cases of “telegrams” precisely. The prosecutor supported the request of the representative of the victim, Mr. Schurenkov left her at the discretion of the court, but the defense of Mr. Safonov spoke categorically against, believing that there was no legal reason for this. The lawyer Vladimir Slashchev defending the entrepreneur suggested listening to the case publicly, closing only those meetings at which the “sensitive information” written in the posts for the victims will be read. However, judge Olga Zhelyazkova did not go to this and satisfied the request, after which the audience was asked to leave.

The first, together with the wanted business partner, co-founder of Dijal Soft, and the ex-leader of the Lenfilm film studio Fedor Shcherbakov, the investigation considers the organizers of the crime. According to the prosecution, at the direction of the gentlemen of Safonov and Shcherbakov in 2022, eight posts containing the false and discrediting director of Rostec in special assignments Vasily Brovko and his wife Tina Kandelaki information were posted in the Telegram channel. For their deletion and further non-use of publications, 2.2 million rubles were requested from the top manager for three months from the top manager. In the same year, five posts were also published in the Telegram channel “Provisional Government” about Mr. Brovko, the removal of which and the installation of the “Bloc on the Negative” were estimated at 1 million 40 thousand rubles. Finally, the third episode is associated with the publication in 2021 in the Kremlin Mamkovo and another 11 different different Telegram channels of a number of publications with the discrediting head of PJSC Rosseti Andrei Ryumin and his company. 8.7 million rubles were required for removing posts from it. This episode was invited to Mr. Safonov together with the author of publications about the « Rosseti » by Eduard Schurenov. The latter, in addition, was accused of involvement in extortion in 2020 11.5 million rubles. The billionaire Albert Avdolyan, the founder of the Yota communications operator, for the non-replacement of negative publications in the newspaper Vek and the New Century Telegram channel.

It is worth noting that the two defendants in this case-the media manager Stanislav Deineko, as well as the owner of the newspaper « Century » and the New Age Telegram channel Alexander Gusov-found guilt and concluded pre-trial cooperation agreements with the prosecutor’s office, showing evidence for other defendants. The metropolitan courts have already considered their cases in a special order, having appointed each five years a maximum security colony. These sentences have not yet entered into force and were appealed by convicts in connection with excessive severity. At the same time, the decision regarding Mr. Gusov, who has a sick child, according to Kommersant, asked the Moscow City to soften even the victims.

As for businessman Safonov (he is detained from October 23, 2023) and pensioner Schurenkov, the first to the investigation denied the prosecution, the second agreed with him. However, the defendants did not happen to state his position on May 19.

As it became known to Kommersant, the defenders of Mr. Safonov Vladimir Slashchev and Daniil Zologin petitioned the return of the case to the prosecutor, claiming that the investigation actually falsified the final decision to attract their client as the accused.

As I previously wrote « Kommersant »the defense claims that on October 10, 2024, Mr. Safonov signed a document on 40 sheets, while when familiarizing themselves with the case, lawyers found a decision on 142 pages. Thus, the accusation of Mr. Safonov increased more than three times and, not knowing his essence, the defendant was deprived of the opportunity to defend himself.

The prosecutor and the representative of the victims asked them to give them time in order to prepare a position on the volumetric petition. In this regard, the hearing was postponed on June 2.
