The President plans to nominate a candidacy for Seplp by June 4 / Day
The SEPLP contains three members approved by the Saeima. One member shall be nominated for approval by the President, one of the Council of Implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Non -Governmental Organizations and the Cabinet of Ministers, and another – the Saeima in accordance with the procedure set out in the Rules of Procedure of the Saeima. At least ten members of the Saeima may be nominated for this position.
The candidate must be a Latvian citizen with higher education and a perfect reputation. Similarly, the Law on Public Electronic Media and their Management Law provides for other requirements.
The candidate led by the Saeima has a law requirement – at least five years of professional experience in the management of capital companies. The candidates nominated by the President and the Cabinet of Ministers and the Cabinet of Ministers, on the other hand, must be at least five years of professional or academic experience in the field of media, education, culture, science or human rights.
Candidates for Seplp Member will be able to nominate Saeima by May 26. The place led by the Memorandum Council is to hold a competition.
Seplp members are elected for four years and will end the power of Seplp in August this year. Currently, Seplp is chaired by Chairman Janis Siksnis, as well as Sanita Upleja-Jegermane and Jānis Eglītis.
The law stipulates that a member of the SEPLP may be reinforced, but not more than twice in a row.
Seplp is an independent, full -fledged, autonomous institution that represents public interest in the field of public media according to its competence.
