The president approved the new government of Christen Michal
On Monday afternoon, President Alar Caris appointed five new government members at the suggestion of Prime Minister Christen Michal.
After taking the oath to Riigikoga, a member of the Eesti 200 Party Igor Taro will take the post of Minister of the Interior, Hendrik Johannes Terras, also a member of the Eesti 200 party, will become the Minister for Regions and Agriculture Affairs, Andres Sutt, a Member of the Party of Reforms – the Minister of Energy and Environment, Carmen Juller, a member Leis, also a member of the reform party – the Minister of Infrastructure, writes BNS.
Before appointing ministers, President Karis talked with each of the five candidates for ministers in order to learn more about their plans.
“I wish the government and new ministers success in the implementation of promises given in the new coalition agreement. Expectations are high, and responsibility in your hands. As I already said in my speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the republic, we need new prospects. This is what both people and enterprises are waiting for, ”the head of state turned to the new ministers and expressed the hope that the actions of the government will not be limited to words, but will lead to specific affairs and results.
From the previous composition of the government, the Prime Minister will remain Kristen Michal from the Party of Reforms, the Minister of Finance-Jurgen League from the Party of Reforms, the Minister of Defense-Hanno Pevur from the Party of Reforms, the Minister of Economics and Industry-Erkki Keldo from the Party of Reforms, the Minister of Culture-Haydi Purge from the Party of Reforms, the Minister of Education and Science-Christina Kallas From Eesti 200, Minister of Foreign Affairs – Margus Tsakhkna from Eesti 200 and Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs – Liisa Pacosta from Eesti 200.
