The year 1941 and 1949 became a fateful turn of thousands of Latvians that were taken in an unknown direction without warning. In foreign and harsh conditions, they tried to preserve humanity, create new life and raise children. These children grew far away from their homeland, in a foreign environment in which they felt unauthorized. They learned a foreign language, lived among strangers, and asked questions that even adults were afraid to answer.

One of these children is actor Martins Wilson, who was born in the deportation of the Magadan area in Russia in the family of Zenta Wilson and Roland Chekhovich. In the documentary, director Dzintra Geka portrays his life story as a personal testimony of the deported Latvian fate, search for identity and return to the controversial reality.
