The prelude to the Student Song Festival took place in Klaipeda

The Klaipėda Summer Stage was filled with thousands of choristers, dancers and musicians who created a unique mood of the Song Festival in the port city.

According to the organizers of the celebration, the small version of the Student Song Festival is particularly rich in the number of participants, with 220 collectives and over 5.6 thousand. participants from 58 Lithuanian cities and towns.

Lithuanian Children and Youth Choirs, Orchestras, Ensembles, Dance Groups are already living in the mood of the Student Song Festival « Time. »

“The Festival of the Lithuanian Children, organized in Klaipeda is a component of preparation for the Lithuanian Student Song Festival – most of all Lithuanian children and youth choirs participated in the festival. « We – Lithuanian Children » were of two complementary national events: choir competition and song festival at Klaipėda Summer Concert Stage, « said Algirdas Šumskis, artistic director of the event.

During the Song Festival, an impressive ceremony took place in the port city – a longtime teacher of Klaipeda University, scientist and conductor Regimantas Gudelis was awarded the Golden Bird for Merit to National Culture.

The professor was honored for his many years of dedication to choral art, research and contribution to the promotion of Lithuanian music traditions.
