The Pope and Fatima!

Portugal, despite being a small country, has a history of expansion and knowledge that go far beyond the period of discoveries. Today, as we pass through the world, there is a Portuguese that everyone knows: St. Anthony!
Fatima is also a Portuguese devotion that spread all over the world, not only for its relationship with the Holy Father, but mainly by the prophecy revealed to the shepherds that summarizes, in a way, the history of the twentieth century.
Since the appearances in 1917, the popes have shown a growing interest in the message of Fatima, recognizing their importance to the church and the world. In 1942, in the middle of World War II, Pope Pius XII consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in response to the requests of Our Lady of Fatima. This symbolic act marked the beginning of a strong connection between the Vatican and Fatima.
St. John Paul II had a special devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, especially after the attack on May 13, 1981, when the first appearance was celebrated. He attributed his survival to the protection of Our Lady of Fatima and visited the Sanctuary on several occasions, including the beatification of Francisco and Jacinta Marto in 2000.
In 2000, Pope John Paul II ordered the third part of Fatima's third part, which revealed a vision of the 'bishop dressed in white' to be killed by soldiers. Many interpreted this vision as a prophecy of the attack against the Pope himself. It was up to Ratzinger the mission of revealing the third part of the secret. Then, as Pope, Benedict XVI visited Fatima in 2010 and emphasized the timeliness of Fatima's message to our times. He interpreted the message as an appeal to conversion and hope, considering that the prophecies of the Virgin Mary in Fatima continued to illuminate history today.
Pope Francis enshrined Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in response to the requests of Our Lady of Fatima. This act was seen as an appeal to peace and reconciliation in a moment of great conflict.
Today are various elements inherent in the message of Fatima: peace and war, conversion and consecration, the pain of the Pope and the errors of Russia spread through the annihilation of many nations.
It is worth remembering the words of Fatima, in a period of suffering of the Pope: “If you meet my requests, Russia will become and will have peace. If not, it will spread your mistakes around the world, promoting wars and persecution of the church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, several nations will be annihilated. Finally, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father will consecrate me to Russia, who will be converted and will be known to the world some time of peace. In Portugal the dogma of faith will always conserve.
