The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matthew Poor said that the Ministry of Sports did not plan to close children’s and youth sports schools (Junior School).

The statement of the head of the Ministry of Youth was heard against the background of public fears about the possible curtailment of the Youth network through the reform of the sports system.

« We do not close, and are not going to close the school. Many of them work with our children skilled and inspired by their work coaches, » the minister said.

The poor explained that it was not about reducing, but about expanding opportunities for involving Ukrainians in sports.

« In the framework of the introduction of the club system, we create additional opportunities for communities – to unite around regular sports and have support at the community and state levels.

Such communities do not always meet the strict requirements of the Junior School, but have the opportunity to attract children, adults and veterans more effectively – in regular training, active lifestyles. These are additional opportunities for Ukrainians. We do not plan to close the school, « the poor said.

Recently, several regions have recorded cases of reorganization of the Youth Sports School, which has caused discussions among coaches, parents and local communities.
