The politician wanted to auction the hammer, but they stole it directly from the foundation stone

Given that the mayor of Brno's district of Bystrc, Tomáš Kratochvíl had it planned almost ideally – the Bystrian hammer from the event, starting the construction of the tram towards the Bystrcká housing estate, he decided to auction at the Bystrk ball to give money to children or seniors (again) from Bystrc.

But a few tens of seconds of inattention was enough after the foundation stone of the tram line was tapped in the middle, and the idea collapsed like a house of cards.

« I put it for half a minute on the cornerstone, and it's gone, » he said in the post on Facebook. He turned straight to the non -missile with the appeal: “I ask a citizen who stole a memorial hammer in the photo to return him to the Bystrc town hall. If he just found him, I will give him the finding. Thank you, the end of the report. ”

After all, he was preparing for the ball on Friday during the day. Miloš Havránek, the CEO of the Brno Transport Company (DPMB), gave him a substitute hammer. From the DPMB headquarters it was operatively imported by the dispatching car.

“The mayor (Kratochvíl) Our Hammer devoted our hammer to the director that the mayor could realize his intention to auction him at the ball and donate the proceeds to the Senior Club. We transported the hammer and we will use another for our Facebook competition, ”said DPMB spokeswoman Hana Tomaštíková. Havránek promised his hammer the winner of the planned competition.

Kratochvíl hopes that for a unique artifact he will be able to raise the amount of thousands of crowns. He will not search for the perpetrator or finders. “Of course, a circle of suspects narrows, because the hammer is used for physical work, and the politicians who participated in the event are particularly intellectual. Around 150 people could be around, the event was open to the public. But I do not want to point to anyone with a finger – maybe someone really walked around and in the thirty seconds he told himself that the hammer was just lying there, so he took it, ”said the politician.

If no one is in the auction at the ball, he is said to be ready to apply for himself and bring some nice sum to the seniors.
