The Police Police Department of the border guard is introducing a ban on holding public meetings supporting military aggression, to Kharyumaa, as well as in Lyaenemaa and Ida-Virumaa. The ban is valid from 8 to 10 May.
The prefect of the Pyhayan Prefecture of the ATS Kubsippop recalls that any collections are prohibited that use the prohibited symbolism of the aggressor, hatred is incurred or aggression is maintained in another way. “This means that these days it is impossible to conduct marches, rallies or performances. Propaganda and support of the war, the actions of the Putin regime, and its war crimes in Ukraine with symbols, words or actions are prohibited, ”the prefect said. He explained that in the area of responsibility of Pykhoya and Idask Prefectures, such meetings were held in past years, therefore, from May 8 to 10, a ban on public meetings was additionally introduced by order of the prefect.
As in previous years, on May 9, the police will work in Tallinn, as well as in Lyaenemaa and Ida-Virumaa with reinforced forces in order to ensure public order and, if necessary, quickly intervene in case of offenses. “The police do not prohibit honoring the memory of the dead, but this should be done with dignity. People can visit the cemetery, bow their heads, lay flowers and honor the memory of the dead. However, this should happen without flags and ribbons, that is, without symbols that maintain aggression and prohibited law, ”the prefect said.
The police will respond to violations both in cities and on the Internet. For the organization of prohibited public meetings, fines or imprisonment are provided for a period of up to one year. The police will detain people who are campaigning for participation in prohibited meetings or helping to organize such meetings in a different way.
For inciting hatred and the use of symbolism of aggression, punishment is provided In the form of a fine up to 2400 euros Or arrest.
