In Poland it has just begun long May weekend – One of the most anticipated moments of spring. Thousands of people set off to take a break from their daily duties. The directions are different: some choose mountains, others – the Baltic, Masuria or picturesque towns scattered all over the country.
Along with mass trips, however, there is a risk on the roads – the police are already announced by increased controls of speed, sobriety and technical condition of vehicles. Road problems appeared on the S2 route – not only through the increased traffic related to the picnic, but also by a collision with the participation of a motorcyclist. This took place between the Miedzeszyński embankment and the patriot node – exactly at 481 kilometer of the S2 route towards Terespol.
TVN24 information shows that the motorcycle collided with a passenger car. Two fire brigades appeared on the spot. One has already returned to the unit. However, this is not the end. The station also stated that as a result of various collisions and accidents on S2, the cork has already reached 20 kilometers. The latest information shows that after 19 o’clock the traffic on the southern beltway liquefied.
Increased police controls during a picnic
Increased controls are announced by the police throughout the country. As the West Pomeranian command informed: « Traffic policemen will conduct increased road inspections from April 30, focused on, among others, eliminating drunk drivers from traffic, counteracting exceeding the speed limit among drivers and checking the technical condition of vehicles. » The services also call for prudence over the water and take care of the technical condition of water equipment.
Drivers are reminded that they follow traffic messages, avoid travel during rush hour and consider alternative routes.
