A tragic attack in Krakow. Panic at the clinic
Shortly after 10 am to the office of dr. Solecki entered his patient, Jarosław W. inflicted many wounds with a knife, aiming at his stomach, hands and heart. Despite the immediate intervention and two -hour surgery, the doctor’s life could not be saved.
The patient who was waiting for a visit to the orthopedic clinic that day told « Gazeta Wyborcza » about dramatic moments after the attack. He asked for anonymity. He reported that the attacker was sitting among waiting in the waiting room, dressed all in black. When the doctor asked another person, the man got up after a few minutes, knocked on the office and entered without waiting for an answer.
« After a while there was a terrible woman’s scream, » he describes. – The patient left the office and said only: « There is a cutter here. » Some people began to run away, others confused. I think I shouted that we had to save ourselves. I have a leg in a cast, so I hid around the corner. Someone probably sprayed pepper spray, it got very stuffy.

However, Monika, former patient dr. Solecki, he talks about the doctor with great respect. She met him after her accident when he became her attending doctor. Her case was complicated: a multi -meal fracture of the elbow head. It was threatened with amputation or permanent hand malfunction. Thanks to the four -hour operation carried out by the doctor, she regained full efficiency. – He was very involved in my recovery. Even when he had an accident himself, he asked other doctors to send him films from my rehabilitation to follow her progress – he recalls.
He also adds that the specialist did not count the time when he met with patients. – He devoted himself to his professional, visits with him never lasted as much as the National Health Fund provided, which has always been delayed. He always agreed to additional visits, he often added patients to the basic list, he was so devoted to his work.
Colleagues dr. Tomasz Solecki also emphasizes that the death of a doctor is an irreparable loss for the medical community and everyone who helped.
