The painter and architect Alenka Kham Picman died
The life path of a painter and architect has expired Alenka Kham Pičman (1932–2025). She has written in the panorama of Slovenian art with characteristic figural compositions and vedutas of cities and architectures, but her rich career has also markedly reached different fields of architecture and design.
In 1956 she graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana at a graduate Jože Plečnik with the task Fish footbridge across the Ljubljanica River and Redribski Squarelater she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, where she studied with professors Gabriel Stupici and Maximu sitting. She graduated in 1975 and then completed a graphic special in 1979 Marjan Pogacnik.

Numerous international experience
At first she worked at the architect’s bureau Danilo Fürst In the project of the pulp factory in Banja Luka, then it engaged in Sweden and Denmark, mdr. In the bureau for the interior of the overseas steamers and various architectural bureaus.

She began to teach drawing and designing textiles at the Textile Department of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology at the University of Ljubljana, designed textiles for many Slovenian factories (Tectilindus, Induplati, decorative…), equipped business premises, shops and outlets. She has traveled a lot, and she also spent two years in Paris.
She justified her works mainly on her own experiences, memories, associations, inner moods and the state of mind. An important place in her oeuvre belongs to cycles in the technique of screen printing technique, graphic folders with a carnival in Venice (1990), as well as desolate and ohceta in Ponikva near Dobrepolje in Dolenjska (1991). The substance was chosen from folk life and customs, and its cycles of vedut and landscapes (town of Venice, Vienna, Ljubljana, Kranj, Kokra Canyon, Karst architecture …) are also recognized.
In her artistic career, she has had more than fifty -five solo exhibitions at home and abroad, participating in more than a hundred exhibitions in European countries, Japan, USA and Canada.
