« The Order », two ideals of America in comparison that fear (vote 7 and a half)
The true story of a neo -Nazi organization that reflects today’s political revolution
« The Order », one of the most viewed films on Prime Video, scored at the Venice exhibition, is one disconcerting topicalitytrue in the past because it tells a true story, that of the new Nazi terrorist organization The Order in 1983 but also reflects today’s political revolution, especially if we look at America.
Inspired by an essay by Flynn and Gerhardt, aThe beginning seems almost a « normal » detective, but we immediately see that in the criminal gang that is organizing attacks, robberies, fires, worse than the Ku Klux Klan, there is a deep racial hatred towards blacks and even the Jews, the desire to subvert the entire democratic order of the country, like a collective assault on Capitol Hill, in Washington 2021.
So it’s not some criminal or criminalbut an organization that really wants to change the order, as the title says, moving a war against the States government. It looks like the film of a mirror neuron, compared to what is happening, foresight of Justin Kurzel, records Australian who keeps the violence of the world today under his personal magnifying glass. Havened like a detective in an almost western environment, with a mustache and tired Jude Law who makes the hero, an FBI agent practically only against this band that risks sending the rules of the civil world by tilt, whose boss is an equally good and alarming Nicholas Hout (the juror n. 2 of Eastwood).
Of course a film that likes critics like But which is destined to disconnect a lot of the stars and stripes audience, seen how things went (lean collection, 2.2 million dollars) also for the prophetic element it contains. There is not much excavated in psychology, the two protagonists are the sum of the many heroes and not heroes of cinema, only that now they have an impressive link with reality, the one in which Trump has been more successful.
If we go back there is another prophetic film, Released only on Netflix, « American Elegy » which is the story of JD Vance’s sad adolescence, today Vice President of the United States, after having changed jacket. Kurzel’s film was born from a wise book and inside praises and glorifies another book, « The Turner Diaries », in which the famous painter has nothing to do with it, but the ideals of a white supremist who started this especially racist philosophy who animated over the century, many armed men who have often killed many unarmed.
In the film there are, and often fear, Two ideals of America in comparison, one tired and depressed, the other who fights with anger in the name of ethnic agaustice reaching the consecration of evil, as happens in history, with a final fire to the Poe.
