The old -school coffee buffet
« We have long been thinking that it would be fun to keep up with these old pies that have been prevalent in parties in our family, » says Jóna Sigríður Gunnarsdóttir in a conversation with mbl.is.
Jóna operates the Rosak Coffee café in Hveragerði with her husband, but for the past three years they have had a coffee buffet available to guests on Sundays.
Peruters, meringue cakes, rye bread cakes and bread cakes on the offer
« It is an old -fashioned pearl, various meringue cakes, rye bread cakes and the other and the other. Now they have been offering the buffet for three years.
« It’s fun to taste all kinds of types, » says Jóna about the selection. In addition to the sweet pie, she says they have sometimes offered scones and flatbreads. « So we always have three types of bread and hot dish, » she adds.
Exceed the brightest hopes
« This has gone beyond the brightest hopes, » says Jóna about the coffee buffet, which will continue on Sundays.
« We have just released it over the worst winter weather, but we have added a buffet on festive days, » says Jóna. « Similarly, we have had a buffet on the first summer day, the seventeenth of June, at the town festival here and such. »
The coffee buffet says Jóna has been ideal for those who have not been invited to a load this year, but the buffet would be good at such a party.
Dubai-tea
« Have just been happy not to be invited to load, it’s much cheaper than going to a party, » replies Jóna in half -time, when a journalist asked what she had to say to people who were not invited to a party this year.
Jóna says the group that attends the buffet is a very mixed group of mixed age. There are both locals from Hveragerði and guests from Reykjavik and other regional laws. « We have a lot of regular guests in many places, » says Jóna about the customers at Rose Coffee.
The coffee buffet will be in place on Sunday.
The owners of Rose Coffee say that the classic pies will be available. However, the couple are « always trying something new, » for example, an innovative pistachio or « dubai-tit » will be on the tables on Sunday.
