The number of summer festivals in 2025 increased by 43%
The number of pre -sale tickets for summer festivals in Russia has grown from 25% to 110% year by the year. The number of events has also increased – by 43%, up to 157. Market participants associate a trend with the development of domestic musical tourism and the emergence of new regional formats. At the same time, the organizers fear that sales in the regions will not pay off due to the high density of events.
The number of summer festivals this year increased by 43% year by the year, up to 157 events, calculated for Kommersant in Yandex Afisha. The number of pre -sale tickets for them in monetary terms has also increased – by 72%, says Enrico Mazavrishvili, Director for the Development of the Service business: “Among the reasons for this growth, a wide range of new events and the festivals themselves are held in the summer can be distinguished.” For example, the summer festival Denis Matsueva, which will be held from June 29 to July 5 in Suzdal, is very popular, he said.
Kassir.ru also notes the annual growth of the festival category. If we compare May 2025 with the same period last year, then in Russia ticket sales increased by more than 110%, says the CEO of Ticket Operator Elena Glukhovskaya. Over the past year, the platform sold more than 300 thousand tickets for specialized events in June – August.
MTS Live (controls Ticketland, TicketsCloud) an indicator of the pre -sale of tickets for events in June -August to grow by 25% year by the year. The number of festivals remained unchanged, says Anastasia Kolomenskaya, commercial director of Ticketskloud: “New urban formats with a rich daily program, for example, MTS Live Summer, Summer Sound, and the development of internal musical tourism, the emergence of bright regional festivals, such as Nur in the“ Nur ”, say leading growth drivers. Kazan and Intervals in Nizhny Novgorod. ” Despite the departure of part of the players oriented to foreign artists, stable brands like “wild mint” and Signal continue to grow, expanding the program and audience, the top manager believes.
According to the results of 2024, the volume of the ticket market reached 227 billion rubles, increasing by 20% of the year by the year. Of these, 53 billion rubles. I had to take a concert segment, 45 billion rubles – for cinema, 38 billion rubles. They brought museums and exhibitions, 49 billion rubles – theaters, another 12 billion rubles – sports events. In 2025, the market will reach 265 billion rubles, increasing by 17% year by the year.
After the start of hostilities in Ukraine, a number of festivals were abolished in Russia, which were foreign artists. Among them-transferred since 2020 due to Park Live pandemia. They were replaced by VK Fest, a revived “picnic of the“ posters ””, more people began to attract Stereoleto, “wild mint”. But the organizers of the festivals continued to face problems. In 2024, new security measures were introduced due to the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall (see Kommersant on March 24, 2024). As a result, a number of events were canceled, including Dobrafest, Epic Coast, Belde, Lunasad and the largest of them – the “Invasion”. Thus, the organizers of Dobrafest specified that for the event it was necessary to protect the entire territory of the festival, without leaving the entrances and exits with a capital fence (un portent structures). The exception is the passage where metal detectors and armed guards were supposed to be standing.
But even with positive data on the pre -sale of tickets to the festivals in 2025, the risk remains that they will not pay off in the regions, says the producer of Colisium International Music Forum Sergey Babich: “The market capacity is still not reliable. And from the experience of past festival years, we can see how several major events are held on the same day in neighboring regions. ” In Moscow, all the events will definitely pay off, he says, but it is impossible to say the same about other cities, « in addition, the audience will come from all regions of the country to large festivals, as a result of events from different places they begin to compete with each other. »
