The number of millionaires in Luxembourg has dropped

Luxembourg’s empire became a little less rich in 2024, and the number of dollar millionaires also decreased from 47,100 to 43,600. This emerges from the Capgemini Report 2025. Most of the millionaires, almost 40,000 people, have a fortune between one and five million dollars. The number of ultra -rich, i.e. those people with assets over $ 30 million, decreased by ten to 270 people in 2024. What caused the decline does not emerge from the report.

Capgemini, however, deals with the future in the study. By 2030, a almost third of the Luxembourg Millionaires will pass on their assets, and 87 percent will be 87 percent by 2040. According to Capgemini, most heirs belong to the millennials, i.e. the generation, the 30- to 40-year-olds. 94 percent of these heirs plan, plan to invest the assets in a different way and to change asset managers. According to the report, 48 percent of the new millionaire generation of Luxembourg is interested in alternative investments.

Every third new Luxembourg millionaire also wants to invest his assets in cryptocurrencies, every fourth shows interest in other digital assets. They also stated that they wanted to invest their capital more abroad. They expect better investment options and less taxes. The new hotspots are in Singapore, the United Arab Emirates or in Hong Kong, London or New York, the most important destinations remain.
