The number of businesses in the Economic Zone in Elbasan is expected to double

The Minister of State for Local Government, at the same time the political leader of the Socialist Party for Elbasan District, Arbjan Mazniku said today that strategic investments in Elbasan are an opportunity that will turn this city into a center of economic development.

In a conversation with the business of « Fiscal Peace », where Prime Minister Edi Rama was present, Mazniku said that the Economic Zone in Elbasan where the state is a partner, there are about 11 companies present that employ about 200 people and remains a model of successful cooperation between the state and the private sector creating opportunities for foreign investment but also employment.

« Elbasan District is going through a very important moment as a result of some important investments that are in the process, Lekaj-Elbasan Street, Elbasan Baypasi, Krasta Street to Qafe Thana as well as the Railway Project, which enables Elbasan to return to the center of economic development where many companies come and invest here.

According to Mazniku, the metallurgical area has a tremendous potential to multiply the amount of production, while over a period of 5-6 years the number of businesses that develop in the economic and metallurgical zone is expected to double, bringing out tremendous potential.

« If Elbasan contributes 7% of the country’s GDP, 5% of the entire volume is produced in the economic zone of metallurgical, and with the potential of duplication of that economy that takes place in the metallurgical area, the impact not only on Elbasan, employment and economic turnover is very large, » Mazniku said.
